Anne Curtis, Erwan Heussaff Encourage Filipinos to Move for Longevity and Holistic Health in New Video Collaborations with Manulife Philippines

Actress and TV host Anne Curtis and lifestyle content creator Erwan Heussaff are encouraging Filipinos to invest in their health and well-being through movement and everyday choices in their newest video collaborations with Manulife Philippines. Rooted in Manulife’s commitment to longevity, the videos reflect an evolving mindset—shifting the focus from simply adding years to life, to improving the quality of those years through life balance, and intentional choices that lead to sustainable habits.

Manulife ambassadors Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussaff champion a holistic approach to wellness, emphasizing the value of balance, consistency, and making everyday choices that contribute to a healthier lifestyle.

The influencer couple was in attendance when Manulife Philippines launched ManulifeMOVE, a holistic health program that brings together the relevant proposition, services, products and partners to improve customer’s well-being at every stage.

“When I say the word ‘health,’ I often think first of movement. But lately, I’ve been thinking about something deeper,” Curtis said in the video. “At the launch of ManulifeMOVE, I realized this shift: for Filipinos, health is no longer just about adding years to your life. It’s about adding quality to those years.”

She added that this mindset mirrors insights from Manulife’s Asia Care Survey, which showed that more Filipinos are seeking life balance, wellness, and intention in their everyday lives.

Manulife ambassadors Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussaff highlight the importance of staying active through mindful movement, demonstrating how simple practices like yoga can support overall health and well-being.

“MOVE is all about helping us make small, conscious choices that add up to a better life,” Curtis said. “Little things like eating lighter meals, going on walks, and prioritizing your mental health,  can go a long way to finding everyday balance.”

Heussaff, meanwhile, focused on heart health and the impact of daily habits—particularly around food and movement—on long-term well-being.

“Heart disease is the top illness Filipinos are most worried about according to a recent Manulife’s Asia Care Survey,” Heussaff said. “We all have a relative who had heart disease. We all know someone who struggles with diabetes. We see why. We know the risks, but the part that no one wants to hear is that we actually have a choice to make a difference.”

He emphasized usual behaviors that lead to heart health problems such as overconsumption of salt and processed food, and not eating enough fruits and vegetables. He noted that to achieve a healthy lifestyle, consistency matters more than perfection.

As parents, Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussaff share how planning ahead gives their family greater peace of mind—helping them feel more ready for what’s next and build a future of stability and possibility for Dahlia as she grows.

“There’s nothing wrong with enjoying food or indulging, but daily choices matter,” he said. “Small and consistent actions like socializing and even just going for a walk compound and go a long way to improving heart health and overall well-being. You or your loved ones don’t have to be part of statistics.”

“Even small, consistent moves can make a meaningful difference to how we live, and how well we live, over time,” said Sonali Verma, Chief Marketing Officer, Manulife Philippines. “ManulifeMOVE is designed to help Filipinos build healthier habits through movement and everyday choices that support better physical, mental, and financial well-being across life stages. As more people seek balance and well-being, we want to make it easier to take practical steps that strengthen physical health, mental resilience, and financial security. It’s how we’re enabling Filipinos to live better for longer.”

This initiative builds on Manulife’s refreshed strategy, advancing its strategic priority of empowering customers' health, wealth, and longevity and aligns to the recently launched Manulife Longevity Institute, a global platform to drive action that helps people live longer, healthier, and more financially secure lives by 2030.

The videos are now available on Manulife Philippines’ and the Heussaffs’ official social media platforms.

Making Mother’s Day Special, the Moneymaxxing Way

Mother’s Day hits different when you want to go all out but still stay in control of your finances. That’s where moneymaxxing comes in: making every peso work smarter so you can celebrate more, without the after-stress.

With Maya, the country’s #1 Digital Bank and leading all-in-one fintech platform, it’s easier to do just that, so you can enjoy the day without overthinking it later.

If you want it to feel special, don’t start with the price

It’s easy to default to one big, expensive gift, but more often than not, it’s the experience that people remember. A planned lunch, a small but thoughtful present, or even just uninterrupted time together can feel more personal than something rushed or over-the-top.

When you shift the focus this way, your spending starts to feel more intentional, not just bigger.

If you’re going to spend anyway, make it work for you

Mother’s Day spending is going to happen either way, so it helps when it gives something back.

Using the Maya Black Credit Card means your everyday purchases earn Maya Miles, which you can use for shopping, dining, or even travel, so your spends now can turn into something you’ll actually enjoy.

Meanwhile, the Landers Cashback Everywhere Credit Card gives you 5% cashback at Landers, 2% on dining, and 1% on most purchases, making it easier to get more value from the things you were already planning to buy.

And it doesn’t stop at rewards. The more you use Maya for everyday transactions, the more you can boost your interest on Maya Savings, earning you up to 15% per annum, so your money keeps growing while you go about your day.

If timing is the issue, not your budget, adjust for that

Even with the best intentions, expenses don’t always line up neatly with your salary, and that’s usually when things start to feel stressful.

Having something flexible, like Maya Easy Credit, can help you manage those short-term gaps if needed. With access to up to ₱50,000 that you can repay within 30 days, it gives you a way to follow through on your plans without dipping into your savings or worrying about how the rest of the month will look.

And if you’re overthinking it—this part matters most

At the end of the day, what makes Mother’s Day meaningful isn’t how much you spend. It’s the thought behind it, the effort to make the day feel considered, the intention to show appreciation, and the time you choose to spend together. Those are the things that stay.

Moneymaxxing Mother’s Day simply means being thoughtful not just with your plans, but with your money too. So you can celebrate, enjoy the moment, and still feel good about your finances after.

GCash celebrates women leaders shaping the future of tech

From single parents balancing careers to women navigating disability, the She Can! 2026 celebration of GCash honored employees who turned challenges into paths of influence, building on its annual recognition program to spotlight journeys marked by perseverance and growth. This year’s program carried the theme “She Can Lead, She Can Conquer, She Can Inspire.”

The annual She Can! program is an internal recognition and empowerment initiative designed to celebrate the women of GCash who embody leadership and empathy within and outside work. This year's honorees were nominated by their own colleagues, a process that opened nominations across all employee levels to seek out extraordinary GCash women who inspire those around them every day. At the awarding ceremony, each honoree was presented on stage by her own nominator, emphasizing that these women are recognized by the very people they impact daily.

Mynt President and CEO Martha Sazon affirmed the company’s commitment: “We recognize the women of GCash whose courage and leadership continue to shape our organization. Their stories remind us that when women are allowed to grow, they not only overcome challenges, but they lead, they conquer, and they inspire others to do the same.”

The honorees also shared about the intersection of personal growth and professional excellence. Tanya, one of the She Can! honorees, reflected on the power of emotional intelligence in the workplace, stating, “I’m proud that I can be strong and compassionate at the same time. I learned that empathy isn’t a weakness. The celebration also highlighted how GCash women navigate the complexities of modern life. Steffi, one of the honorees, shared how she models work-life harmony for her team: “I try to make it visible to others that it’s possible to create a balance between your career and your family life. You don’t have to set any one area aside”.

The program's special guest, former ABS-CBN CEO and multi-awarded actress Charo Santos, led a forum where she shared her own experiences of leading, conquering, and inspiring. She urged women professionals to embrace continuous learning and courage in a fast-changing digital economy. "Leadership starts with learning," she said. "Your decision to improve is not just for yourself but for the people who follow you and rely on you.”

At the core of workplace inclusion at GCash is the belief that achieving Finance For All starts with providing opportunities for all. Behind inclusive products and services is an inclusive environment that empowers every employee to grow.

GCash champions women’s empowerment through the holistic 3Cs framework (Care, Career, and Culture). Employees are given holistic “Care” by providing them a robust safety net far exceeding statutory requirements. By integrating comprehensive health benefits—such as Day 1 HMO coverage with women-specific screenings and fertility treatment accommodations—with flexible work arrangements and dedicated mental health support, GCash ensures female employees are supported at every life stage. At the same time, inclusive life partner benefits allow female employees to enroll same-sex partners as dependents for HMO, insurance, and bereavement coverage, with no marriage certificate required.

From honoring specialized leaves for solo parents and survivors of gender-based violence to offering a secure environment for caregivers and recognizing non-traditional family set-ups, GCash fosters a culture where women can thrive both personally and professionally as drivers of fintech.

GCash has consistently invested in the career trajectory of women in tech through initiatives like the For The Women Scholarship and the Women Up Top Masterclass—both of which have provided women opportunities to widen their tech skillset.

To foster an inclusive workplace culture, employee resource groups like “Mamahood” offer working mothers a dedicated community to share experiences and support one another, alongside other ERGs open to women, including Limitless League, Queer Peers, and Self-Made Solos.

These efforts are reflected in GCash numbers and stand out sharply against industry norms. The fintech sector remains male-dominated, with less than 10% of leadership roles held by women. GCash has actively reversed this trend: as of March this year, women make up 47.2% of the Mynt workforce, and 47.7% of leadership roles are held by women, a figure that far exceeds industry standards. More strikingly, women occupy roughly half of GCash executive decision-making positions, with leaders such as Mynt President and CEO Martha Sazon, Chief Technology & Operations Officer Pebbles Sy, and Chief Strategy  Officer Rowie Zamora holding the company's top seats at a time when female executives represent a small fraction of leadership in fintech globally.

Beyond recognition, She Can! has transformed into a testament to an everyday culture where every woman is given the opportunities, tools, and voice to drive Finance for All. As Mynt President and CEO Martha Sazon affirmed, GCash remains committed to strengthening mentorship, professional development, and leadership pathways for women across the organization, in service of its mission to advance financial inclusion in the Philippines.

Top fashion photographer creates editorial shots on 5 vivo V70 ZEISS focal lengths

Can one smartphone recreate the feel of a professional fashion shoot from multiple camera perspectives?

vivo set out to prove exactly that during its vivo V70 Photography Masterclass on April 30, 2025, where celebrated Filipino fashion photographer BJ Pascual demonstrated how the smartphone’s ZEISS co-engineered camera system uses five distinct focal lengths to produce cinematic portraits, editorial-style framing, and striking close-up shots all within a single device.

As lighting shifted and compositions changed throughout the live shoot, attendees witnessed how the vivo V70 transformed everyday mobile photography into a more immersive and expressive creative experience.

ZEISS Multifocal Portrait: 85mm and 100mm

BJ explained how different focal lengths create different looks.

''The 85mm is considered a classic portrait lens. It gives a natural perspective with slight compression, which flatters the face. The 100mm, on the other hand, is more compressed. It’s perfect for close-ups because it isolates the subject and highlights details without distortion,'' he said.

85mm Portrait with ZEISS Sonnar style 100mm Portrait with ZEISS Planar style

During the on-site shoot, BJ used both focal lengths to capture stunning images of Nicole Cordoves, demonstrating the cinematic portrait effect of the vivo V70, which offers both texture and professional charm.

He paired the portrait shot with ZEISS Style Bokeh using the ZEISS Sonnar style with 85mm that gives soft flares and a cinematic blue-yellow tone, while 100mm is the ZEISS Planar style for a softer, more refined look with a slightly desaturated tone.

AI Stage Mode: From environment to detail

''Originally, this feature was designed for concerts and festivals, situations where your subject is far away and moving. But creatively, we can use that same capability for editorial photography,'' BJ shared

1x

2x

3x

1x main camera focal length — Equipped with a 50MP ZEISS OIS Main Camera, the vivo V70 naturally renders the relationship between the subject and its surroundings, delivering precise, true-to-life expression under real lighting and spatial conditions. The result is imagery that boasts both narrative depth and visual balance, making it the go-to choice for environmental portraits and daily life documentation.

3x mid-telephoto focal length — With ZEISS optics and advanced algorithmic optimization, this focal length strikes a sophisticated balance between subject prominence and background separation. It preserves a professional composition aesthetic while retaining natural spatial depth, empowering users to capture more stylish, expressive street portraits and creative frames with ease.

10x super telephoto capability — Combined with AI image enhancement and Stage Mode optimization, the vivo V70 ensures stable, clear capture of facial expressions and fine details, even when shooting at long distances or in complex lighting environments. Whether it’s stage photography, event coverage, or distant scene capture, this super telephoto capability consistently delivers high-quality, professional-grade results.

During BJ's live demonstration, the vivo V70 went beyond being just a photography tool to showcase remarkable practical value. From seamlessly switching between the 85mm and 100mm portrait focal lengths to experimenting with multi-focal compositions of AI Stage Mode across 1x to 10x zoom, the device’s operation was intuitive and responsive, letting the photographer focus fully on crafting compositions and mastering lighting to bring his creative vision to life.

Vivo V70 Hands-On Review: Camera, Battery & Real-Life Usage

The vivo V70 5G enters the Philippine smartphone market as a strong contender for users who prioritize camera performance, long battery life, and premium design without jumping to flagship pricing. After spending time with the device, here’s how it actually performs.

First Impressions: Premium Feel That Stands Out

Out of the box, the Vivo V70 feels refined. The aluminum frame and clean finish (especially in Alpine Gray and Sand Beige which our review unit by the way) give it a sleek, modern look. It’s slim for a phone packing a 6,500mAh battery, and the IP68/IP69 rating adds peace of mind for daily use in unpredictable weather—very relevant in the Philippines.

Using the vivo V70 daily made me appreciate how good its display really is. The smaller 6.59-inch AMOLED screen feels comfortable in the hand, while the 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate make everything look sharp and smooth. Scrolling through social media, watching videos, or simply switching between apps feels fluid with no noticeable lag.

Camera Experience: Built for Everyday Photography

The vivo V70’s ZEISS-powered camera system is clearly its biggest selling point—and in daily use, it delivers consistently reliable results. I would like to highlight this review on camera outputs because it really standout on this phone. I think it is more precise, the outputs are good and crisp.

Daylight Shots

Photos come out sharp with balanced colors. Unlike some phones that oversaturate, the V70 leans toward a more natural look. It’s great for street, food shots ,etc.

Here are our sample shots:

Night shots

The V70 utilizes a 50MP main sensor with OIS  and 50MP ZEISS Night  telephoto camera to capture details on low -light shots.

Here are our sample shots:

Telephoto Capabilities

Sensor: 50 MP ZEISS Super Telephoto sensor with a 1/1.95″ sensor size.

Zoom Capability: Offers 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, with 10x optimized specifically for portrait photography.

(OIS): Provides enhanced stability for sharper, clearer, and more vibrant long-distance portraits.

ZEISS Portrait Modes: Fine-tuned for 85mm and 100mm focal lengths, delivering professional-quality background blur and precise subject separation.

Here are our sample shots:

Gaming Experience

When it comes to gaming, the Vivo V70 offers a solid midrange experience but with some limitations.

Mobile Legends

- Playable with up to Super Ultra Graphics

Call of Duty Mobile

- Playable up to Very High Max Graphics

Garena Delta Force

- Playable but set to lower settings because the game is very demanding.

Hardware and Performance

The vivo V70 is powered by a 4nm 2.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 octa-core processor paired with an Adreno 722 GPU. While the chipset delivers smooth day-to-day performance for social media, multitasking, streaming, and casual gaming, it does feel a bit underwhelming considering the phone’s premium pricing. At this price point, some users may expect a more flagship-level processor for better long-term performance and gaming capabilities.

On the brighter side, vivo equipped the V70 with fast LPDDR5X RAM options (8GB or 12GB) and flagship-grade UFS 4.1 storage (256GB or 512GB), which significantly improves app loading times, file transfers, and overall system responsiveness. It’s good to see vivo using the same storage standard found on higher-end flagship devices. However, there’s no microSD card slot for expandable storage. Our review unit comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

vivo V70 pricing and availability

The vivo V70 8GB/256GB retails for Php31,999, the 12GB/256GB is priced at Php35,999, while the 12GB/512GB has an SRP of Php39,999. It’s available through vivo physical stores and retail partners nationwide, and through the vivo e-store website, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.

Verdict

The vivo V70 is a camera-first smartphone with excellent battery life and dependable performance

- Great for photography and content creation
- Long-lasting battery—even with gaming
- Smooth day-to-day experience

However, for gaming:

It’s reliable but not powerful enough for hardcore gamers

If you want a balanced phone for camera, battery, and casual gaming, the vivo V70 is a strong choice in the Philippines.
