Maxim Launches In-App Guide, Speeds Up Driver Support

Maxim Rides & Food Delivery has introduced a new in-app Driver’s Help section and enhanced the speed of its customer support, making it easier for driver-partners to access information and receive assistance. These improvements contributed to a positive support experience during the first half of the year, with nearly 90% of driver-partners reporting satisfaction with Maxim's customer support.

The new Driver’s Help section serves as an in-app guide where driver-partners can find answers to frequently asked questions, learn more about Maxim’s services, and access essential information without needing to contact customer support for common concerns.

With the new guide, important information about working with Maxim is always at driver-partners’ fingertips, helping them perform orders more efficiently and improve service quality. The Driver’s Help section is now available through the Taxsee Driver application.

Alongside the launch of the new guide, Maxim has strengthened its customer support by improving both response times and service quality. The company regularly updates its support procedures, monitors service quality, maintains consistent standards in handling inquiries, and reviews driver-partner feedback to continuously enhance the support experience.

The company reported that its support team responds to 81% of driver inquiries within the first 24 hours, while 22% of simple inquiries receive a response within the first 15 minutes. More complex concerns may require additional time to ensure an accurate resolution.

“At Maxim, we continuously invest in solutions that make it easier for driver-partners to perform orders and access support whenever they need it. The Driver’s Help section and our ongoing improvements to customer support are part of our commitment to providing a better experience for every driver-partner on the Maxim platform,” said Andres Morales Jr., President of Maxim Rides & Food Delivery.

GCash ushers in more seamless train commutes on LRT-2 via GCash Commute QR

GCash for Business general manager Paul Albano tests the GCash Commute QR during the launch of cashless payment system at the LRT-2 Legarda station

Passengers of Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) can now pay for their fares directly from their phones using GCash Commute QR, making their commutes faster and more convenient.

GCash joined the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Light Rail Manila Transit Authority (LRTA), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC), and Visa in the official launch of cashless payment options, including GCash Commute QR, at the LRT-2 servicing stations spanning Manila, San Juan, Quezon City, Marikina, Pasig, and Antipolo.

This is part of LRT-2's transition to a cashless payment system, which now also supports NFC-enabled Tap-to-Pay as well as Visa and Mastercard payments.

“This initiative supports rail modernization and the adoption of a National Standard for Automated Fare Collection, enabling more seamless, efficient, and integrated payments across transport modes,” said DOTr Secretary Giovanni Lopez.

GCash for Business General Manager, Paul Albano of G-Xchange Inc., mobile wallet operator of GCash, said, "We are committed to partnering with the government to modernize payments in public transportation and make commuting easier for more Filipinos.”

“Through payment innovation and strong public-private collaboration, we aim to support nation-building and help create a more inclusive digital economy," he added.

This rollout signifies the initial stage of a broader initiative to modernize fare systems on LRT-2. Moving forward, GCash also aims to enable GCash Tap-To-Pay and GCash Visa card for even more seamless entry and exit across all stations.

With cashless payments, passengers can go straight to the turnstile, scan their Commute QR, and head to the train platforms.

Entering the LRT-2 Lanes using the GCash Commute QR is easy:

  1. Tap Commute in the GCash app to generate your QR code, then save it for offline use. Make sure your GCash wallet has at least ₱16.50, following the discounted fares implemented by the DOTr.

  2. Proceed to the LRT-2 turnstile and scan your Commute QR to enter.

  3. At your destination, scan the same Commute QR at the exit turnstile. Your fare will be deducted automatically.

The cashless payment option is expected to benefit millions of commuters. According to the Light Rail Transit Authority, LRT-2 served over 58.7 million passengers last year.

With cashless entry now available at station turnstiles, passengers can move past the ticket lines, especially during rush hour. For students bound for the University Belt and workers navigating Metro Manila’s busiest corridors, the cashless payment rollout removes a familiar source of stress from the daily commute.

This launch builds on the successful integrations at the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and the EDSA Busway, where cashless payments via GCash have already proven reliable under high passenger volumes. Those deployments showed that digital fare systems can keep pace with real-world commuting demands, paving the way for expansion to the LRT-2’s high-traffic corridors.

Through technology, we are reducing wait times, ultimately aiming for a better commute experience for millions of Filipinos. Digital transformation is now active on LRT tracks, and with just a few taps, daily travel moves faster and with less friction.

LG Electronics Reports 2025 Scope 1 and 2 Emissions Below 2030 Target Level in Latest Sustainability Report

LG Electronics (LG), a global leader in environmental, social and governance (ESG) management, has released its 2025–2026 Sustainability Report, which highlights the company’s ongoing efforts to realize its vision for a Better Life for All

The newly issued report outlines LG’s key ESG initiatives for stakeholders worldwide. Notably, it reveals that in 2025 the company surpassed its 2030 targets for both greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction and waste recycling rate.

In 2025, LG’s Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (indirect) emissions across all domestic and overseas business sites totaled 842,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂eq) – a figure significantly lower than the company’s 2030 target of 878,000 tCO₂eq. This achievement reflects the success of LG’s organization-wide efforts to reduce GHG emissions by 54.6 percent by 2030 (from 2017 levels). Key initiatives include the adoption of energy-efficient equipment and the transition to renewable electricity.

LG also exceeded its target for reducing emissions intensity during the use stage of seven major product categories. In 2025, the company reduced carbon emissions per unit during the use stage of its seven major categories by 22.5 percent compared to 2020. The target, a 20 percent reduction in per-unit GHG emissions from product use by 2030 – using 2020 as a baseline – was previously validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). LG is the first South Korean home appliance manufacturer to receive SBTi validation for such a target.

In addition to its GHG reduction targets, LG has exceeded its resource circularity goals. The company recorded a waste recycling rate of 97.3 percent across all domestic and overseas business sites in 2025 surpassing its 2030 goal of 95 percent. The company also maintained Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWTL) certification across all domestic operations, with all five domestic production sites achieving the highest Platinum rating. Furthermore, LG collected 640,000 tons of used electronics from 91 locations across 56 countries in 2025, bringing its cumulative total of e-waste recovery to over 5.65 million tons since 2006.

Along with the effectiveness of LG’s environmentally-focused programs, the 2025–2026 Sustainability Report demonstrates the company’s continued drive to enhance the accessibility of its products and services. Key offerings include the LG Comfort Kit, designed to make home appliances easier to use regardless of age, gender or disability; accessibility initiatives such as the broader application of braille and tactile guides, as well as kiosks equipped with sign-language avatars at service locations; and the LG Easy TV, specifically engineered for seniors. LG also provides a range of inclusive services, including sign language consultations for the hearing impaired, and dedicated consultation services for senior customers.

To strengthen board independence and governance transparency, LG has separated the roles of CEO and board chairperson. Earlier this year, the company further reinforced oversight by appointing an independent director as board chairperson.

The 2025–2026 report also features a newly-introduced section on Responsible AI, outlining the company’s AI Ethics Principles and governance framework in response to the growing adoption of AI technologies. Going forward, the company plans to continuously bolster its governance framework to ensure accountability and transparency across the development and use of AI.

A global ESG leader, LG has again been recognized by the world’s premier ESG rating agencies. The company has now been included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index (DJBIC World) for 14 consecutive years and has ranked in the “Top 1%” of S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) for three years in a row. LG also earned an “AA” rating from Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) this year, one level higher than it achieved the previous year. Additionally, the company has received its second consecutive “Platinum” rating from EcoVadis, a distinction reserved for the top one percent of companies in their industry category.

LG has published its annual sustainability report since 2006. The full 2025-2026 report is available on LG’s website.

Thank You, Next: Why You Should Break Up with Your Payroll Account

Everyone has done it: using your first payroll account as your “everything” account because you’ve had it for so long, and opening a new one takes too long. It’s easier to just stay in that comfortable "situationship" with your payroll account, but the only thing that will come out of it is giving up your hard-earned money’s growth.

But when there are better options out there that give you better rates for close to no effort, your payroll account becomes the dead weight to financial independence.

Breaking up with a long-term habit is hard, but moving forward doesn't have to be a dramatic, stressful event. Here are the steps and tips to smoothly transition your savings away from your payroll account this coming payday:

Step 1: Have your new savings account ready

Overlapping is frowned upon in real-world relationships, but in finances, having your next savings account lined up is smart planning. Don’t wait until payday to figure out where your savings should go. If you scramble during the rush, inertia wins, and you’ll end up leaving your money in your payroll account.

Open a high-yield savings account (HYSA) a few days early. GSave on GCash gives you access to the most trusted banks without going through the effort of setting up an account in any of their branches. Get it fully verified and active ahead of time so it’s ready to welcome your funds the second your salary comes in.

Step 2: Update your trackers in advance

If you monitor every peso, update your budget tracker before the big move. Setting up a column or an account for the new HYSA ahead of time does more than just make the move seamless. Like defining a relationship, a label creates a psychological commitment that makes the transition feel real and official.

Step 3: Move your savings to your new account

When the salary notification drops, immediately transfer your designated savings from your payroll account to your HYSA. How much you move depends on your style: if you follow a strict rule (like 50/30/20), transfer that exact percentage right away. If you prefer to pay bills first and save what remains, do that instead. The goal is simply to get it out of your payroll account and build the habit of saving.

Step 4: Automate your transfer from payroll to savings

Once you’ve done the manual transfer a couple of times, automate it. Set up a recurring auto-transfer from your payroll account to your digital savings account. Automation helps ensure you won’t accidentally go back to your old habit of keeping your money dormant in your payroll account, and keeps your financial goals moving forward.

Finalizing your financial breakup and transitioning to wiser financial habits doesn’t have to be complicated. GSave by GCash is a digital savings platform built right into your app to make this transition effortless.

It connects you with trusted partner banks—such as CIMB, BPI, Maybank, UNObank, and Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank—offering interest rates of up to 4.15% p.a. to help your savings grow faster.

A low-maintenance partnership with GSave takes less than five minutes to lock in. Because you access it entirely on your phone, there are zero trips to physical branches and no extra documents to stress over. Moving funds from your payroll to GCash is straightforward with a minimal cash-in fee, and once active, you have the total freedom to deposit any amount with no minimum balance required.

Because it’s inside the GCash app, transferring your money between your HYSA and wallet is instant and free—giving you immediate access to pay bills, send money, or shop online whenever the need arises.

GSave also ensures you stay in total control of your money without lock-in periods or restrictive bank operating hours. Your funds remain accessible around the clock while resting safely in accounts that are fully PDIC-insured

Walking away from a stagnant routine is the hardest part of any transition, but your savings shouldn’t have to pay the price for convenience. Choosing a savings partner like GSave ensures you build a more rewarding relationship with the money you work so hard to earn.

To open an account on GSave you must be a Filipino Citizen, at least 18 years old, and a fully verified GCash user. Ready to grow your money? You may access  GSave through the GCash dashboard or find it under “Grow.” No GCash yet? Download the GCash App on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei App Gallery. Kaya mo, i-GCash mo!

Aerospace Engineering in Your Pocket: Why the OPPO Find N6 is the World's Most Durable Foldable

Foldable smartphones have come a long way in recent years. While users once questioned their durability and reliability, today's innovations have transformed foldables into everyday productivity companions that are built to last.

Leading this evolution is the OPPO Find N6, a foldable smartphone engineered to withstand the demands of modern life without compromising on design, performance, or portability. Built around OPPO's Armour Shield Architecture, the Find N6 combines aerospace-inspired engineering, industry-leading durability, and flagship innovations to prove that foldables can be just as dependable as they are sophisticated.

Engineered to Go Further

At the heart of the OPPO Find N6 is its Armour Shield Architecture, an advanced structural design that reinforces the device using premium materials while maintaining an ultra-slim profile.

Despite its refined form factor and the industry's thinnest bezels on a book-style foldable, the OPPO Find N6 is designed to withstand the realities of everyday use. Whether it's navigating unpredictable weather, working outdoors, or simply enduring the wear and tear of daily commutes, the device delivers durability without sacrificing elegance.

Setting a new benchmark for foldable smartphones, the OPPO Find N6 carries IP56, IP58, and IP59 ratings, allowing it to withstand dust, water immersion, and even high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. From unexpected downpours to accidental spills and more demanding environments, users can stay productive with confidence knowing their device is built to handle more than everyday challenges.

A Foldable Built for the Long Run

A foldable is only as reliable as its hinge, and OPPO has reimagined this critical component with the 2nd-Generation Titanium Flexion Hinge.

Manufactured using aerospace-grade titanium alloy, the hinge delivers greater strength while remaining remarkably lightweight. Together with Auto-Smoothing Flex Glass, it enables the industry's first Zero-Feel Crease, creating a display that feels smooth and immersive whether you're reviewing reports, reading documents, editing presentations, or watching videos.

The hinge is also certified to withstand one million folds, demonstrating the Find N6's ability to support years of daily opening and closing without compromising performance. It's an engineering milestone that reinforces the device's position as one of the most dependable foldables available today.

Slim, Lightweight, Yet Surprisingly Tough

Durability doesn't have to come at the expense of portability.

The OPPO Find N6 pairs its robust construction with an ultra-slim design, making it comfortable to carry from the boardroom to the airport. Folded, it slips easily into a pocket or bag. Opened, it transforms into an expansive workspace that supports everything from multitasking to content consumption.

Its Snap Key provides instant access to frequently used tools and shortcuts, helping users navigate busy schedules more efficiently without interrupting their workflow.

Reliability That Extends Beyond the Hardware

The OPPO Find N6 is designed not only to survive demanding environments but also to keep up with demanding workloads.

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, the device delivers smooth performance across multitasking, productivity apps, video conferencing, and content editing. Whether managing multiple projects or switching between work and entertainment, users can expect fast, responsive performance throughout the day.

Complementing this is the 6000mAh OPPO Silicon-Carbon Battery, which provides reliable all-day power for professionals who spend long hours away from a charger. Combined with OPPO's fast-charging technology, the Find N6 minimizes downtime so users can focus on what matters most.

Built for Work, Ready for Creativity

Durability is only valuable when paired with capability.

The Find N6's expansive foldable display unlocks desktop-like productivity through Free-Flow Window, allowing users to run multiple applications simultaneously and move seamlessly between tasks. Reviewing presentations while responding to emails, taking notes during virtual meetings, or organizing travel plans all become more intuitive on the larger display.

Meanwhile, Cross-Ecosystem Connect enables users to transfer files, photos, presentations, and documents effortlessly between OPPO and Apple devices, helping professionals maintain uninterrupted workflows across multiple platforms.

Beyond productivity, the OPPO Find N6 is also equipped for creativity. Its 200MP Hasselblad Ultra-Clear Camera, enhanced by the LUMO Image Engine and True Color Camera, captures professional-quality images with natural color reproduction and impressive detail. Whether documenting site visits, capturing campaign assets, or preserving travel memories, the camera delivers results that are as dependable as the rest of the device.

Raising the Bar for Foldable Smartphones

The OPPO Find N6 demonstrates that durability and premium design no longer have to exist at opposite ends of the spectrum.

By combining Armour Shield Architecture, industry-leading water and dust resistance, a titanium hinge certified for one million folds, flagship performance, intelligent productivity features, and professional imaging capabilities, the Find N6 sets a new benchmark for what users should expect from a foldable smartphone.

For professionals who need a device that can keep pace with their ambitions, the OPPO Find N6 proves that the future of foldables isn't just more innovative. It's stronger, smarter, and more reliable than ever before.

The OPPO Find N6 is priced at PHP 139,999. Customers can also enjoy exclusive offers and freebies available for a limited time. Globe subscribers can avail of the Find N6 through GPlan 2499 with PHP 73,600 cashout, while Smart users can purchase the device under Smart Infinity Plan 5000, with exclusive benefits.
