Sony Philippines Unveiled WH-1000XM6 in a Grand celebration of Sound, Style, and Innovation

Sony Philippines turned up the volume and took center stage with the highly anticipated launch of the WH-1000XM6, the latest evolution in Sony’s industry-leading noise-canceling headphone series. Held at Glorietta Activity Center, the immersive event welcomed music lovers, tech enthusiasts, lifestyle influencers and fashion-forward creators to a full-day celebration that redefined what it means to listen in style.


Globally renowned for its relentless pursuit of innovation, Sony continues to push boundaries in audio technology, creating products that bridge lifestyle, creativity, and performance. During the launch, Sony Philippine’s President and Managing Director, Mr. Shuhei Sugihara highlighted Sony’s global direction toward designing technology that enhances everyday living. “Sony is not just a retail electronics company but a Creative Entertainment Company. With technology and innovation, we aim to unleash KANDO in several business units such as gaming, electronics, music, movie, and imaging sensor production” Mr. Sugihara also reiterated Sony’s commitment to integrate innovation and entertainment to create products and experiences that tap into emotions.

Followed by Mr. Kentaro Imamura, Marketing Director of Sony Philippines, who focused on the design philosophy behind the WH-1000XM6. “For The Music is an audio branding campaign to bring people closer to the music they love while also supporting the Filipino Music Scene” said Mr. Imamura, “The WH-1000XM5 is a trend-leader and status symbol that tapped into the Gen Z market. As an innovator in the world of tech, Sony continues to evolve its line up with the launch of the new WH-1000XM6 ” Both executives highlighted the WH-1000XM6 as a product that meets the needs of modern users–offering not just sound performance, but comfort, intelligence, and style.

At the heart of the launch was the Sony WH-1000XM6, the latest evolution of the brand’s acclaimed 1000X series. The ceremonial reveal, marked by a high-energy dance performance by the award-winning A-Team dance crew, known for their precision and electrifying stage presence, as they unveil a larger-than-life installation of the WH-1000XM6 headphone. This welcomed the guests to a product that merges industry-leading noise cancellation, immersive audio quality, and enhanced ergonomic design. With its longer battery life of 30 hours, adaptive sound control, and sleeker, more lightweight form, the WH-1000XM6 has been engineered for today’s on-the-go professionals, creators, and music enthusiasts.

A Celebration of Music and Creative Expression


Beyond the technical introduction, the event offered a dynamic program that seamlessly blended music and fashion. Japanese artist and influencer FuMi opened the celebration with a charismatic performance that energized the crowd.

He was followed by syd hartha, whose soulful alt-R&B sound created a more introspective mood through songs like “Damdamin” and “Tila-tala”. Her performance was paired with the first fashion segment: a casual, indie-inspired collection that reflected her laid-back, expressive style.

Later in the program, Barbie Almalbis took the stage, delivering iconic OPM hits like “Overdrive” and “When I met you”. Her performance set the tone for a fashion segment inspired by early 2000s alt-pop rock–featuring throwback denim, bold prints, and vintage silhouettes. It was a reminder of how sound and style can complement each other across generations.

The final performance came from Lola Amour, whose high-energy set included tracks like “Dance with My Mistakes”, “Misbehave” and their award-winning single “Raining in Manila” Their youthful and vibrant sound aligned perfectly with closing the fashion show collection–a funk, groove-filled display of bold, expressive looks by renowned stylist Thian Rodriguez. The styling choices aligned with Sony’s campaign message: The WH-1000XM6 is a seamless blend of performance and style.

Adding depth to the program was a moderated interview segment hosted by Aiyana Perlas, featuring notable personalities such as Janina Manipol, Iggy Miranda, James Deakin, Coach Abby Maravilla, syd hartha and Lola Amour. The conversation explored how the WH-1000XM6 has become more than just a pair of headphones, but an essential part of their lifestyle.

For fashion and lifestyle icons Janina and Iggy, the WH-1000XM6 effortlessly blends into their aesthetic, and fast-paced routines, proving that style and sound can coexist without compromise. “I love that the WH-1000XM6 adapts to every sound around me, these headphones don't just cancel noise, they elevate the whole experience.” said Janina. Tech personalities James and Coach Abby highlighted the headphone’s intelligent features and superior noise-cancelling technology, emphasizing how it elevates focus and performance both on-the-go and in everyday work environments. Guests stayed into the evening enjoying curated Sony music playlists and free-roam access to experiential zones, bringing the brand’s For the Music narrative full circle.

Sony Exhibits at CES® 2025


Sony Group Corporation (“Sony”) is exhibiting at CES® 2025, taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada, from Tuesday, Jan. 7 (PST), under the theme “Creative Entertainment Vision,” the long-term vision for where Sony wants to be in 10 years.

Hiroki Totoki, President, COO and CFO of Sony Group Corporation took the stage at Sony’s press conference held on Monday, Jan. 6. Together with a diverse array of speakers, he introduced a number of foundational initiatives leading towards Sony’s “Creative Entertainment Vision” including new solutions that enable creative freedom such as a new vehicle processing system, and the latest solutions for spatial content creation. In addition to introducing initiatives in the field of anime to expand the fan community, Sony also highlighted projects for turning game IP into visual works, co-creation with music artists, and new location-based entertainment experiences as measures to expand the world of game IP from multiple perspectives. Among them, the production of an anime series based on thegame “Ghost of Tsushima: Legends,” the launch of a new manga app “Crunchyroll Manga,” and the release month for the drama series “The Last of Us” season 2 were announced.

Additionally, with guest speaker Roger Goodell, Commissioner of the US National Football League, Sony shared the latest developments in the evolution of sports entertainment. In addition, Sony Honda Mobility also unveiled its EV “AFEELA 1,” for which it will begin accepting orders from 2025, as an example of mobility innovation.
Totoki closed the press conference by emphasizing that Sony’s “Creative Entertainment Vision” involves creators, partners and Sony colleagues working together, to create infinite realities for everyone that will spark imaginations and generate a boundless sense of Kando.

New Vehicle Processing System that Utilizes Virtual Production: “PXO AKIRA”
This exhibit introduces “PXO AKIRA” for the first time, a new cutting-edge system that transforms the traditional method of shooting vehicles, by enhancing safety, reducing costs, and maximizing creative freedom. PXO AKIRA combines an advanced robotic camera crane with a custom-built motion platform, LED volume technology and an integrated digital twin tool to deliver an all-in-one solution for filming vehicles using Virtual Production in any setting. Additionally, the exhibit will showcase a 3D reconstruction tool that perfectly complements PXO AKIRA, offering the capability to capture real-world environments and transform them into immersive, 3D digital backgrounds.

● “XYN™” Integrated Software and Hardware Solution Designed to Support the Creation of Spatial Content
Sony Corporation announced today the launch of “XYN™,” an integrated software and hardware solution designed to support the creation of spatial content. Leveraging unique technologies in imaging, sensing, and display, “XYN” employs proprietary algorithms to accurately capture and reproduce objects, human motion, and backgrounds in real-world spaces, enabling efficient reproduction in a 3D Computer Graphics (CG) production environment and facilitating the construction of flexible workflows. Attendees can experience products and solutions currently under development at the booth.

● LEGO® Horizon Adventures™ Brings the Music of mxmtoon Alive
LEGO® Horizon Adventures™ is a playful and light-hearted story inspired by the world of Horizon and made fully out of LEGO elements. Its theme song, written and produced by mxmtoon, further extends the Horizon franchise in an innovative way, whereby a teaser of the music video will be released at CES. The video leverages assets produced for the game by using Epic Games' Unreal Engine to expand the game into animated content.
This project is an amazing collaboration with mxmtoon’s music that crossed the creativity of multiple teams, including Guerrilla, The LEGO Group, Pixomondo, and Sony. At the booth, visitors will be able to play the game and get a sneak peek of the music video, as well as to watch the behind-the-scenes that highlights the creative and production process.

Experience based on the theme “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” Aniplex Inc. is a comprehensive entertainment company with a wide range of businesses operating worldwide, including the planning and production of video and music works, primarily in the area of animation; game planning and development; theatrical production and distribution; and the planning, production and sales of merchandise.
At the booth, visitors can engage in experiences the themed around the anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, which is based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotoge published under SHUEISHA's JUMP COMICS and has over 150 million copies in publication. The animation production is by ufotable. The exhibit will include a photo booth that recreates the poster for the movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, the first in a trilogy of films that will be released in theaters worldwide in 2025.

Immersive Location-based Entertainment Concept based on “The Last of Us”
Sony is exploring ways to expand the value of content IP by developing a proof-of-concept for location-based entertainment with various technologies such as video, audio, and haptics to provide creators with new avenues for expression. At the booth, this future immersive entertainment concept features the suspenseful action-adventure game “The Last of Us” with high-definition video, 3D sounds and olfactory technologies.

Sony Introduces Enhanced Features in the “Monitor & Control” App


Sony is stepping up its game for video creators with the latest update to its Monitor & Control app. Starting November 13, 2024, the app’s Version 2.2.0 will roll out, bringing significant upgrades to enhance usability and functionality for both single-camera and multi-camera setups.

Monitor & Control is a versatile mobile app that transforms smartphones and tablets into powerful video monitoring tools. Whether you're connecting wirelessly or via USB, the app provides precise controls for exposure with features like false color and waveform monitors. It also simplifies focus adjustments, empowering creators to achieve professional results directly from their devices.

What’s New in Version 2.2.0?

Improved Single-Camera Monitoring

Version 2.2.0 introduces aspect markers and safety zone displays on the monitoring screen. These additions let users confirm the angle of view and composition while shooting, making it easier to frame shots with precision.


Enhanced Multi-Camera Monitoring

Managing multiple cameras just got a lot easier. The updated Multi-Camera Monitoring function supports up to four cameras wirelessly connected to a single iPad. What’s more, users can now adjust settings for each camera—like shutter speed and exposure—without needing to switch screens. This improvement streamlines workflows, making multi-camera setups more efficient and intuitive.

    Sony Philippines Mounts First-Ever Creator’s Fest in Manila

    Sony Philippines capped off its inaugural Creator’s Fest, an immersive event designed to empower content creators to elevate their storytelling through superior technology and expertise. Set against the historic and culturally rich backdrop of Intramuros, this exclusive event featured a day packed with engaging experiences, demonstrations, and insights from Sony’s roster of creators.

    Sony Philippines President Shuhei Suhigara welcomed the crowd with a heartfelt message, expressing the company’s goal to connect more closely with creators and digital followers. He shared that “it is people that create and experience Kando,” one of Sony’s core values, emphasizing the power of emotional connection.

    A Camera for Every Creator

    Sony’s cameras are globally recognized for their superior specifications, making them ideal for creators who prioritize quality and creativity. Whether participants were beginners finding their creative eye, growing creators mastering their craft, or industry leaders pushing boundaries, the Creator’s Fest provided the perfect environment for content creation exploration.

    An extensive lineup of Sony cameras was on full display for creators to experience and find the right gear for their evolving needs. From the ZV-1 II, perfect for beginners, to the A6700 and FX30, designed for more advanced storytellers, Sony offered a range of options to suit every content creator. These cameras are engineered to deliver the best in content creation, ensuring every shot is captured with precision and clarity.

    Experiential Zones to Inspire and Ignite Creativity

    At the heart of the Creator’s Fest were five experiential zones, embodying Sony’s ethos of Kando—a Japanese word meaning "the power of emotions." These zones provided guests with hands-on experiences that sparked creativity and passion.

    • Gastro Experience with Erwan Heussaff and Abi Marquez: Focused on food styling and photography, Erwan Heussaff and Abi Marquez led a session at Barbara’s Heritage Restaurant, demonstrating how to plate and capture the classic Filipino dessert, Brazo de Mercedes. Using the ZV-E10 II, participants learned to highlight texture, color, and cultural context in their food shots, from creative plating techniques to mastering indoor lighting.

    • Lifestyle Fashion Shoot with Janina Manipol and Marco Gallo: Creators explored the intersection of colonial and modern styles through editorial fashion photography using professional equipment from Aputure PH. Guided by Janina and Marco, participants captured outdoor beauty, focusing on natural light, angles, textures, and background blur. This session emphasized capturing intricate fashion details to ensure each shot told a unique story.

    • Beauty and Lifestyle with Jaz Reyes: Jaz Reyes showcased beauty photography techniques with Ellana Cosmetics, teaching creators to blend product items naturally into the landscape. Participants learned to explore the interplay between sunlight, shadows, and textures for captivating beauty shots.

    • Travel Content Creation with Anjohn Sorza: Anjohn Sorza demonstrated creating compelling travel content in collaboration with Herschel. Using the ZV-E10 II, A6700, and A7CII, creators learned to incorporate architectural elements into visual stories, leveraging dramatic natural light, creative angles, and human elements to bring historical spaces to life.

    • Lifestyle Bar and Action Photography with Jessica Lee: Jessica Lee guided participants in capturing dynamic action shots during a live cocktail flaring performance with Hikaru. Creators learned how to freeze fast movements and highlight the shine and motion of bottles and glasses with creative lighting techniques, capturing the excitement and drama of bartending tricks from unique angles.

    Attendees not only participated in hands-on workshops and immersive experiences but also had the unique opportunity to explore the latest Sony products, including the highly anticipated ZV-E10 II. Product experts were available for demonstrations, showcasing how Sony’s cameras and accessories enhance content creation across various niches.
