Sony Introduces Enhanced Features in the “Monitor & Control” App
Sony is stepping up its game for video creators with the latest update to its Monitor & Control app. Starting November 13, 2024, the app’s Version 2.2.0 will roll out, bringing significant upgrades to enhance usability and functionality for both single-camera and multi-camera setups.
A Game-Changer for Video Monitoring
Monitor & Control is a versatile mobile app that transforms smartphones and tablets into powerful video monitoring tools. Whether you're connecting wirelessly or via USB, the app provides precise controls for exposure with features like false color and waveform monitors. It also simplifies focus adjustments, empowering creators to achieve professional results directly from their devices.
What’s New in Version 2.2.0?
Improved Single-Camera Monitoring
Version 2.2.0 introduces aspect markers and safety zone displays on the monitoring screen. These additions let users confirm the angle of view and composition while shooting, making it easier to frame shots with precision.
Enhanced Multi-Camera Monitoring
Managing multiple cameras just got a lot easier. The updated Multi-Camera Monitoring function supports up to four cameras wirelessly connected to a single iPad. What’s more, users can now adjust settings for each camera—like shutter speed and exposure—without needing to switch screens. This improvement streamlines workflows, making multi-camera setups more efficient and intuitive.
Note: Requires iPadOS 16.0 or later.
Compatible Camera Models
