Globe Curates Intimate Art Experience in Support of the Hapag Movement

Globe, in partnership with Provenance Art Gallery, held a private art vernissage and silent auction last June 5, 2025, at the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell. The event brought together art, advocacy, and society leaders in support of the Hapag Movement, a Globe-led initiative that addresses involuntary hunger in the Philippines.

The exclusive gathering featured a curated collection of works from celebrated Filipino artists including Andres Barrioquinto, Jayson Cortez, Max Balatbat, Martin Honasan, Jason Montinola, and Raffy Napay.

Central to the evening was the silent auction, which ran until June 7, with 50% of all sales proceeds dedicated to the Hapag Movement, a Globe initiative together with partners to fight involuntary hunger by providing sustainable feeding and livelihood training to vulnerable families. The other half directly supported the participating artists—underscoring Globe’s dual commitment to social impact and the local creative economy.

Andres Barrioquinto, a Filipino visual artist, created the auctioned artwork. Barrioquinto is renowned for his surreal and hyperrealistic portraits, which fuse elements of nature, pop culture, and Asian aesthetics.  Drawing inspiration from Japanese ukiyo-e and Baroque art, he constructs intricate, layered pieces using oil and acrylic on canvas. Barrioquinto's contributions to art have been recognized including the CCP’s Thirteen Artists Award, and his works are featured in prominent collections throughout Asia."

“This is more than a showcase of art—it is a statement of purpose,” said Roche Vandenberghe, Globe Chief Marketing Officer. “We are deeply grateful to our customers and partners who helped transform an evening of cultural appreciation into meaningful support for communities experiencing hunger.”

Guests enjoyed a private viewing ahead of the exhibit’s public opening, alongside a curator talk by Stephanie Frondoso, light fare by Cibo, and personalized Globe giveaways.

The exhibit remains open to the public until August 2025.

This collaboration is part of Globe’s ongoing efforts to create impactful, human-centered experiences for its customers while advancing its core advocacies through the Hapag Movement.

Globe and CANVAS launch year-long exhibit celebrating art, children’s rights, and online safety at the National Museum

Atty. Irish Salandanan-Almeida, Chief Privacy Officer of Globe and Gigo Alampay, Executive Director of CANVAS at the launch event

The halls of the National Museum are coming to life with color, curiosity, and purpose, as Globe partners with the Center for Art, New Ventures and Sustainable Development (CANVAS) to open a unique year-long exhibit titled “Tumba-Tumba: A Retrospective.”

Visitors can engage with installations that bring CANVAS artworks to life, encouraging exploration, learning, and play

Celebrating CANVAS’ 20th year of promoting children’s literacy and Philippine art and culture, the exhibit features interactive installations, striking artworks, and powerful storytelling—all curated with young minds in focus. Designed to spark imagination and dialogue, the exhibit invites children to explore their rights, the power of creativity, and how to navigate an increasingly digital world.

A reading area showcasing Safe Space: A Kid’s Guide to Data Privacy, co-produced by Globe and CANVAS

“This partnership is about creating a space where learning and play come together, and where kids can better understand how to protect themselves online,” said Atty. Irish Salandanan-Almeida, Chief Privacy Officer at Globe. “Through art, we can engage children in ways that are both meaningful and memorable.”

Among the exhibit’s centerpieces is the award-winning Safe Space: A Kid’s Guide to Data Privacy, a book co-produced by Globe and CANVAS that helps children understand the value of personal information and how to stay safe in the digital world. Visitors can interact with materials inspired by the book, reinforcing lessons on online boundaries, digital footprints, and respectful behavior on the internet.

Experience year-long programmed tours designed for children, families, and schools

The exhibit is also a preview of CANVAS’ upcoming Tumba-Tumba Children’s Museum of Philippine Art, currently being built in Ibaan, Batangas. Just an hour and a half from Manila, the museum will be the first of its kind in the country—a space devoted to Filipino children, storytelling, and creativity.

“We’ve always believed that art can move, teach, and transform. ‘Tumba-Tumba’ is a celebration of that belief,” said Gigo Alampay, Executive Director of CANVAS. “Thanks to partners like Globe, we’re able to bring these stories to more children—and help them grow up informed, expressive, and empowered.”

Globe’s support for the exhibit is part of its broader commitment to safeguarding children’s rights online. Over the past three years, Globe has proactively blocked more than a million URLs linked to sexual abuse or exploitation of children (OSAEC) and recently extended protections to cover AI-generated and non-photographic content.

Through this exhibit, Globe continues to champion digital responsibility—reminding families that online safety starts with awareness, and that even the simplest tools, like a children’s book or a piece of art, can make a lasting difference.

The “Tumba-Tumba” exhibit opens to the public on June 13, 2025 and will run at the National Museum for an entire year.

Globe launches #GoGIVEYourHeart Challenge to mobilize GenZ support for local communities

Globe launched #GoGIVEYourHeart Challenge, its first TikTok for Good campaign in the Philippines,  turning social media engagement into real-world impact through digital generosity.

The challenge puts a spotlight on GoGIVE, Globe Prepaid’s digital advocacy feature accessible via GlobeOne app, where customers opt in to join the program and earn “hearts” by simply using their data.

To encourage participation, Globe created a branded filter on Tiktok that allows netizens to flash their best hand hearts as a digital act of giving.

Each post using the custom effect and the #GoGIVEYourHeart hashtag becomes a metaphorical nudge to earn and donate hearts to their desired communities via GoGIVE.

“We are proud to be featured on TikTok for Good. This campaign offers a fun and purposeful way for young Filipinos to take part in the movement and give back by being online,” said Givielle Florida, Globe Prepaid Business Head.

Our partnership with Globe for the #GoGIVEYourHeart Challenge empowers our Filipino TikTok community to rally support and raise awareness for causes close to their hearts, achieving real-world impact both on and beyond TikTok.”

The campaign is promoted by Team Globe of Good ambassadors, including ABS-CBN Star Magic talents Alora Sasam, Ericka Padilla, and Gillian Vicencio, Rise Artists Studio’s Kerwin King, celebrated theater actor Reb Atadero, and internet sensation Doc Adrian Insigne.

Among the beneficiaries are:

  • Philippine Eagle Foundation - supports wildlife conservation and protects the critically endangered Philippine eagle

  • Project PEARLS - empowers women in Tondo through digitally-enabled livelihood

  • Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) - provides shelter and medical treatment for stray animals

  • Philippine General Hospital Foundation -  boosts public healthcare services through digital tools and internet connectivity

  • World Vision -  promotes digital education access for underserved Filipino students

Once the target number of hearts is reached by each non-government organization (NGO), they will receive the support pledged by Globe.

“Our partnership with TikTok reflects our belief that even small online actions can lead to positive change when people come together with the best intentions,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.

TikTok for Good, TikTok's global social impact content program, connects and inspires a global community to unlock the power of creativity to rally support, raise awareness, and drive positive change for causes they care about the most.

To join, open TikTok and search for #GoGIVEYourHeart, use the branded effect, flash your hand heart, and post your video. Be part of the #GoGIVEYourHeart Challenge and turn simple digital habits into real acts of giving.

Globe GFiber Prepaid load now available at your suking tindahan

Good news for Filipino households, GFiber Prepaid load is now available at neighborhood sari-sari stores, making high-speed and dependable prepaid fiber internet more accessible than ever to families across the country.

Loading at your suking tindahan not only levels up convenience but also gives customers wider choices on where and how to load—whether digitally or on-ground—by tapping into a trusted and readily available retail network.

GFiber Prepaid draws inspiration from the tried-and-tested infrastructure and commercial models behind Globe’s mobile prepaid success. Before this expansion, GFiber Prepaid could only be reloaded via digital wallets on the GlobeOne App, including GCash, ShopeePay, and GrabPay, or through direct GCash payments.

“Since many of our mobile users are already familiar with using this channel to buy load, we wanted to provide that same level of convenience for GFiber Prepaid, making the experience as seamless and familiar as possible,” said Abigail Cardino, VP for Brand Management at Globe Broadband. “This move marks a significant step in our commitment to make GFiber Prepaid even more accessible to every Filipino. By leveraging the extensive network of sari-sari stores, we’re meeting our customers where they are, providing a convenient and familiar way for them to stay connected with fast and reliable internet.”

The addition of sari-sari stores gives customers more flexibility, offering both digital and face-to-face options that suit their everyday routines. It particularly answers the need of those who prefer in-person transactions or do not use e-wallets, especially in provinces and rural areas where over-the-counter loading continues to be the norm.

“We understand the vital role sari-sari stores play in our communities. Integrating GFiber Prepaid loading into this platform allows us to tap into this widespread network, effectively reaching the mass market who prefer and are accustomed to transacting in their local neighborhood stores. This is about bringing the power of GFiber to every Filipino,” said Cardino.

The customers are not the only ones who benefit from the expansion.  Sari-sari store owners can also boost their earnings as official GFiber Prepaid reloading stations while helping drive digital inclusion.

“Beyond just providing internet access, this initiative empowers local sari-sari store owners by offering them an additional revenue stream. By becoming GFiber Prepaid loading stations, they become key enablers in bridging the digital divide within their communities,” she pointed out.

GFiber Prepaid provides load options that suit different needs:

  • Php199: up to 50 Mbps for 7 days

  • Php399: up to 50 Mbps for 15 days or up to 100 Mbps for 7 days
