Digido integrates QR Ph through bolstered partnership with Dragonpay

Recognizing Filipinos’ growing need for seamless payment experiences, multi-awarded digital lending service Digido announces the integration of QR Ph — part of its bolstered partnership with online payment gateway Dragonpay.

The integration enables Digido clients to use a QR Ph code for cash loan payments and quickly repay their outstanding loans by scanning or uploading a static or reusable QR Ph code through a wide range of electronic wallets or banking apps. This facilitates open banking and financial inclusion, ensuring seamless and stress-free transactions within minutes.

Under BSP Circular No. 1055, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas requires all participating payment service providers, including banks and non-bank electronic money issuers (EMIs), to adopt QR Ph, also referred to as the National QR Code Standard. Aside from ensuring the safety, reliability and efficiency of operations of payment systems, having a national QR standard has transformed the fragmented QR-driven payment services in the country into interoperable payment solutions.

Commenting on the integration of QR Ph, Digido business development manager Rose Arreco said: “This initiative gives our clients much more flexibility when using their cash loans as well as facilitating positive loan repayment behavior. The growing trust and preference for digital channels, including lending, should be met with integrations like these to increase access to timely financing options.”

"With the integration of QR Ph, this partnership highlights Dragonpay's commitment to expanding digital payment access, aligning seamlessly with Digido's mission to ensure underserved Filipinos gain safe and inclusive entry into the nation's digital financial ecosystem," Dragonpay founder and CEO Robertson Chiang added.

Digido clients can monitor the Repayment section of the platform’s official website as well as its official Facebook and Instagram pages for step-by-step procedures on using QR Ph as a loan repayment option.

Digido offers a First Loan For Free service, where first-time borrowers can avail up to PHP 4,000 with 0% interest and a standard Personal Loan up to PHP 25,000 for repeat clients. It can be accessed through its official site digido.ph, its apps in Google Play and the iOS App Store, and Lazada Loans

Digido Finance Corp. volunteers promote coastal resilience, biodiversity restoration by planting over 1,000 mangroves at Bataan

Promoting coastal resilience and biodiversity restoration, employees and management of Digido Finance Corp. (DFC), operator of multi-awarded fintech platforms Digido and UnaCash, planted 1,161 mangroves during its latest environmental, social, and governance (ESG) activity in Bataan.

Collaborating with Nature Awareness and Conservation Club, Inc., over 30 volunteers from DFC took part during the activity in Barangay Camachile, Orion, planting seedlings and propagules from the bakauan-lalaki (Rhizophora apiculata), bakauan-babae (Rhizophora mucronata), Bungalon (Avicennia marina) and Pagatpat (Sonneratia alba) species.

The mangrove area in Barangay Camachile serves as the primary source of livelihood for Samahan Ugnayan sa Pangisdaan ng Orion, Bataan (SUGPO), a municipal-wide association of village-level fishers organizations.

Dragonpay and Macrokiosk were among the company’s trusted partners that supported the event through various contributions. Prior to the event, DFC also mobilized creative, in-house fundraising efforts to add more mangroves for planting.

Various environmental groups cite the importance of mangroves as they contribute to disaster risk reduction, such as the mitigation of flooding, lessening of storm surges, and the protection of coastal communities. Multiple studies also cite mangrove forests’ capacity to store carbon, making them an effective solution for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and tackling climate change.

Commenting on the initiative, Digido Finance Corp. head of human resources and administration Diane Tinoko said: “When there was an opportunity to create further awareness about the importance of mangrove rehabilitation and restoration, the company immediately decided to conduct this project. We recognize how nature-based solutions such as this one are important for the Philippines to mitigate the effects of extreme weather events and are thankful to our staff and trusted partners for having the same drive to make our communities more sustainable.”

The event is part of the company’s series of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) activities, aimed to enhance the well-being of communities and promote sustainability.

Digido serves over one million Filipinos

Multi-awarded consumer finance company Digido is proud to announce a significant milestone, having served over one million Filipinos through its safe, reliable and inclusive digital lending services.

Digido has become a trusted financial partner for the Philippines’ underserved, with its platform designed to offer a seamless and efficient process for obtaining cash loans for persons that have limited access to traditional financial services.

Concurrently, Digido’s growing popularity is a reflection of a larger trend where digital channels are the preferred means for Filipinos to access modern financial services, including formal credit options.

Digido offers a First Loan For Free service, where first-time borrowers can avail up to PHP 4,000 with 0% interest and a standard Personal Loan up to PHP 25,000 for repeat clients. It can be accessed through its official site digido.ph, its apps in Google Play and the iOS App Store, and Lazada Loans.

Digido was recognized with 13 awards in 2023, including ones from The Digital Banker’s Global Retail Banking Innovation Awards, Pan Finance and the Global Banking & Finance Review.

“We at Digido are incredibly grateful for the trust that Filipinos have given to us. We view this milestone as both an achievement and challenge, spurring us further to meaningfully contribute to the country’s digital transformation through increased access to formal credit,” said Rose Arreco, business development manager of Digido.

2023 saw Digido experience 23% growth in total loans disbursed compared to 2022. 75.4% of the loans disbursed in 2023 were from repeat borrowers, indicating considerable brand loyalty.

Digido’s recently-released commissioned survey also revealed that personal loans were the most popular formal credit option across demographics and areas in 2023. Formal credit options have been more accessible for eight out of 10 Filipinos last year.

“We are firm in our mission to ensure every hard-working Filipino should have access to convenient and secure financial tools. As we endeavor to celebrate more milestones in the future, we will do so by ensuring we strive for innovation and find creative means to delight even more customers,” Arreco added

Digido and UnaCash volunteers plant nearly 700 trees in Tanay, Rizal as part of their commitment to biodiversity protection and sustainable development.

Digido Finance Corp. (DFC), operator of award-winning consumer finance platform Digido and in-app and in-store finance solutions provider UnaCash, planted 710 tree saplings and seedlings during its latest environmental, social, and governance (ESG) activity in Barangay Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal.

With support from the Rizal provincial government, nearly 40 employees and management of DFC took part during the activity, planting an assortment of native and fruit-bearing trees that included narra, dao, bani, soursop, cashew and jackfruit. Those involved were also given a refresher course on the essential techniques in proper tree planting and aftercare.

Volunteers from online payment gateway DragonPay, a trusted partner of Digido and UnaCash, also took part during the event and made a monetary donation to support the company’s initiative.

Ahead of the event, DFC also mobilized creative, in-house fundraising efforts to add more tree saplings and seedlings for planting.

Deforestation and forest degradation remain major global threats while growth in protected area coverage of key biodiversity areas has largely stalled, according to this year’s edition of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals Report.

Tree planting activities in designated areas in Barangay Cuyambay are expected to aid in the conservation of the Kaliwa Watershed Forest Reserve (KWFR) and the larger Sierra Madre mountain range. The KWFR plays a significant role in regulating the flow of water towards the National Capital Region while the Sierra Madre has historically shielded urban dwellers from unfavorable weather generated in the Pacific Ocean.

“We are incredibly glad to have planted over 700 trees for this initiative, which is our humble contribution to global efforts related to biodiversity conservation and climate-resilient development. While we are a digitally native business, we affirm the essential value of nature by doing our part to take care of the planet,” Digido country manager Farit Shakirov said.

UnaCash president Aleksei Kosenko added: “We hope our tree planting activity in this community is our first of many. Alleviating the effects of climate change is a daunting task for all, but we believe it is imperative, especially for industries, to proactively contribute where we can to build a more sustainable future.”
