Innovation, Creativity, and Co-Creation: DigiCon 2026 Signals the Age of Collaboration

Creativity is evolving and with it, how innovation happens.

As the world marks World Creativity and Innovation Day, a defining shift is taking shape: today’s most meaningful breakthroughs are no longer driven by single ideas or standalone efforts, but by collaboration across industries, disciplines, and technologies.

From artificial intelligence enhancing human imagination, to brands building ideas alongside creators and platforms, innovation is increasingly the result of co-creation. When different perspectives, capabilities, and systems come together, ideas move faster, scale further, and deliver greater impact.

This shift is transforming how creativity works in practice. What used to be linear processes are now collaborative ecosystems—where marketers, technologists, creators, businesses, and communities contribute to shaping ideas from concept to execution. In this environment, innovation is no longer owned by one sector, but built through shared inputs and continuous exchange.

At the center of this evolution is the Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines’s (DMAP) flagship conference, DigiCon.

Now in its 11th year, DigiCon 2026 embraces this reality through its theme, “Interoperability: Welcome to the Age of Collaboration.” Happening on October 15–16 at the Manila Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom, the conference is designed as a platform where industries intersect and where collaboration becomes a driver of innovation.

Built over a decade with 2,000 participants annually, DigiCon has evolved beyond a conference into a catalyst for collaboration connecting disciplines and emerging technologies to turn ideas into real-world, cross-industry impact.

Bringing together leaders from marketing, technology, media, government, academia, and the creator economy, DigiCon 2026 positions marketing as part of a broader ecosystem shaping how ideas are built and brought to life.

“DigiCon reminds us that creativity expands through collaboration, connections, and shared intent,” said Co-Chair Shayne Madamba. “It’s no longer just about generating ideas, but about building them together.”

This year’s conference will feature five key tracks—Immersive, Interactive, Innovation, Integrated, and Impact—each reflecting how co-creation enables ideas to evolve across different platforms and experiences. Complementing this is DigiConX, a series of pop-up events leading up to the main conference, designed to bring these collaborations closer to communities, campuses, and partner organizations.

At its core, DigiCon 2026 brings to life the idea of interoperability where different systems, disciplines, and people work together to unlock new possibilities and drive innovation forward. “Through interoperability, we are building a space where ideas, technologies, and communities can come together to create what’s next,” added Co-Chair Raymund Sison.

DigiCon 2026 is now open for partnerships, sponsorships, and speaker submissions across the tech, media, data, and creative sectors. For inquiries, interested parties may reach out via digicon@futureproof.ph

DMAP launches first-ever program certifications at DigiCon 2024 to upskill, future-proof digital professionals

The Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines (DMAP), the country’s center of excellence and innovation in digital marketing, has announced its strategic partnership with the Certified Digital Marketer (CDM) designed to offer program certifications to over 2,000 expected attendees at the Digital Congress (DigiCon) 2024 on October 15-16, 2024, in Newport City, Metro Manila.

For the first time in its nine-year history, DMAP will offer certifications at DigiCon, which annually converges professionals from marketing, advertising, business, academia, media, and innovation sectors.

Attendees can earn a certification of completion through this year's focused tracks: 'From Ecommerce to Digitally Enabled Commerce' (Ecommerce), 'From IMC to Customer-Centric Campaigns' (Brand Building in AI Age), 'From Digital Transformation to Business Evolution' (Digital Transformation), 'From Data Driven to Insight Driven' (Analytics RPA and Data Science), and 'From I to AI' (Innovation Labs on AI).

Through this initiative, attendees can not only boost their knowledge but also enhance their professional credentials in the digital marketing world.

DigiCon REVOLUTION 2024 Co-chair Alan Fontanilla emphasizes the importance of upskilling for digital professionals, saying, "In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, the ability to continuously upskill is a necessity rather than a competitive advantage. DigiCon 2024 offers professionals the opportunity to stay ahead of emerging trends and transform their expertise into real, measurable business impact. With a focus on practical, industry-leading certifications, this year's event ensures that attendees are equipped to lead in the digital revolution."

The country is predicted to have a PHP 5 trillion injection in the country’s annual economic value by 2030 if digital transformation is leveraged fully.

The partnership aligns with DMAP’s commitment to address the widening digital skills gap in the Philippines. Despite the country’s digitally connected population, the local workforce remains challenged by a digital skills gap. The 2023 World Digital Competitiveness Ranking by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) ranked the Philippines 59th out of 64 countries, with particularly low scores in knowledge and talent (63rd), technology (51st), and future readiness (59th).

Founded in the Philippines in 2008, CDM empowers professionals and organizations to equip themselves for the future of work with highly-rated and expert-led digital marketing training and certifications.

This initiative complements the government's ongoing efforts to address the skills gap. The Philippine Digital Workforce Competitiveness Act (Republic Act 11927) aims to enhance the competitiveness of the workforce by promoting public-private partnerships and establishing an Inter-Agency Council involving industry stakeholders.

DMAP to address digital skills gap, future-proofing workforce at DigiCon 2024

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that the country’s digital economy amounted to PHP 2.05 trillion in 2023, contributing 8.4 percent to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). It is predicted that, if leveraged fully, digital transformation can create up to PHP 5 trillion in annual economic value by 2030.

However, despite the country’s digitally connected population, the workforce remains challenged by a digital skills gap. The 2023 World Digital Competitiveness Ranking by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) ranked the Philippines 59th out of 64 countries, with particularly low scores in knowledge and talent (63rd), technology (51st), and future readiness (59th).

Amidst the widening digital skills gap that threatens the competitiveness of its workforce, the Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines (DMAP), the country’s center of excellence and innovation in digital marketing, will focus on future-proofing the digital landscape at the ninth Digital Congress (DigiCon) on October 15-16, 2024, in Newport City, Metro Manila.

Recognizing these industry challenges, DMAP will bring together global and local industry experts, thought leaders, and technology pioneers to share key insights with attendees from various sectors, including marketing, advertising, business, academia, media, and innovation.

Attendees will be provided a roadmap for leveraging rapid digital changes through five focused tracks: 'From Ecommerce to Digitally Enabled Commerce' (Ecommerce), 'From IMC to Customer-Centric Campaigns' (Brand Building in AI Age), 'From Digital Transformation to Business Evolution' (Digital Transformation), 'From Data Driven to Insight Driven' (Analytics RPA and Data Science), and 'From I to AI' (Innovation Labs on AI).

DigiCon REVOLUTION 2024 Co-chair Alan Fontanilla highlights the opportunities for upskilling: "The digital revolution is reshaping workplaces with advancements in data analytics and AI impacting decision-making processes across industries. Organizations are now prioritizing talent with the skillsets needed to excel in this complex environment. At DigiCon REVOLUTION 2024, our goal is to help attendees understand the critical importance of upskilling to maintain a competitive edge."

With the theme “REVOLUTION,” this year's event is set to drive innovation and digital transformation across the Philippines. Over 2,000 attendees are expected, each provided with tools and insights for digital agility and continuous learning through master classes and immersive activities.

DMAP's initiative complements the government's ongoing efforts to address the skills gap. The Philippine Digital Workforce Competitiveness Act (Republic Act 11927) aims to enhance the competitiveness of the workforce by promoting public-private partnerships and establishing an Inter-Agency Council involving industry stakeholders.
