This milestone is a result of the Petmaloop Challenge, led by mobile brand TNT, the value brand of Smart Communications, Inc. The challenge urged content creators to showcase the highlights of their hometowns that bring them joy using TikTok. The unique twist? They could only use one TNT-powered smartphone, passing it in a relay fashion.
A total of 33 content creators embarked on this ambitious journey, starting in Davao City on November 4 and traversing major cities and provinces in Mindanao, the Visayas, and Luzon. To set the Guinness World Record, they live-streamed their journey from Bulacan to Manila without interruption.
Fumika Fujibuchi, the Official Adjudicator at Guinness World Records, officially declared the achievement, stating, "With 26 hours, 15 minutes, and 29 seconds, TNT has a new Guinness World Record Title! Congratulations!"
The Petmaloop Challenge not only surpassed the required uninterrupted livestream hours but also met various criteria set by The Guinness World Records. These included focusing on real-time travel experiences, emphasizing the significance of sites and cultural locations, ensuring accessibility to the public, and hosting the livestream at multiple venues without gaps.
Alfredo S. Panlilio, President and CEO of Smart and PLDT Inc., expressed, "This world-class endeavor is embedded in TNT's long-time mission of bringing pride to Filipinos everywhere." He emphasized TNT's role in achieving broader digital inclusion goals.
Alex O. Caeg, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart, shared the accomplishment with TNT subscribers, stating, "This is a milestone achievement by Filipinos for Filipinos."
Lloyd Manaloto, First Vice President and Head of Prepaid and Content at Smart, encouraged everyone to take on the Petmaloop Challenge, highlighting the limitless possibilities when supported by the country's best mobile network.
The Petmaloop Challenge unfolded in 19 provinces, showcasing famous landmarks, tourist spots, and delectable local dishes on the Petmaloop Challenge TikTok account. From Davao City to Manila, the participants demonstrated Filipino creativity and rediscovered places that bring joy.
Highlighting the superiority of TNT, powered by Smart, as the Philippines' Fastest and Best Mobile Network according to Ookla, this achievement reinforces TNT's capability for seamless streaming and content uploading nationwide. Smart is the first and only Philippine wireless services provider to earn this recognition for three consecutive reporting periods by Ookla in Q1-Q2 2022, Q3-Q4 2022, and Q1-Q2 2023.
